Hedgehogs in your garden

The trend towards setting aside some of your garden for wildlife is not only good for the environment and beneficial for the garden, it's also good news for hedgehogs - like this cheeky little chappy. Leaving a wild area in the corner of your garden, including the odd stinging nettle, will attract all sorts of insects, butterflies and other bug life that is helpful to the gardener. Including some areas of wild flower meadow around some of the fringes of the garden is another good way to encourage wildlife and for country gardens is useful to blur the boundary between garden and the landscape beyond.
