Principle Garden Designer - Stephen Hall
'The art of good garden design begins with understanding the client...
Stephen Hall is a multi-award winning, professional landscape and garden designer. Stephen has been designing private gardens and commercial landscapes for over 23 years. He runs a small garden design practice, working from his rural office and studio in Upper Dean, which is situated right on the edge of three counties - Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire. Stephen is the principle designer for the practice and is assisted with design work and surveys by his design assistant James, with the trusted Linda handling office administration.
Stephen likes to design gardens with sensitivity to their surroundings, local architecture and materials where appropriate. He also likes to make room for wildlife in the garden and designs with ecology and sustainabilty in mind. Stephen is at home working on both contemporary spaces and more traditional gardens associated with period properties - he has deliberately avoided developing a specific design style as Stephen feels that the needs of the client and requirements of the space should come first.
Stephen is a keen gardener, active comittee member of his local horticultural society and enjoys growing roses and vegetables at home when he has the time. He also enjoys painting and drawing and helps organisine his local village art show 'Art at Dean' which raises money for local charities. He recently produced the pantomime 'Cinderalla' for his local amateur dramatic group. Stephen has received 9 awards, to date, at the RHS Chelsea and Hampton Court Palace Flower Shows which include a Gold Medal, People's Choice Award and Best Courtyard, he was also awarded another 4 awards at the Royal Sandringham Flower Show including 2 Gold Medals, Best in Show and Peoples Choice Award.
...and ends with a beautiful space.
