Garden & Landscape Design Process

Our Approach And Ethos To Designing Gardens.

We take a relaxed yet professional approach to meeting clients, discussing projects and suggesting ideas, as we believe all our clients should enjoy the design process and feel at ease talking through concepts and proposals with their designer. We have found the best results are achieved by taking the time to understand our clients needs, become familiar with the site and its surroundings and whilst working to a detailed brief, budget and timescale - we allow designs time to evolve during the course of the design process, so that we may achieve the best possible results.

The Garden Design Process.

For both private and commercial clients, the design process starts with the consultation. This provides the opportunity to meet and generally discuss the project, we can then establish a design brief and appropriate design fee. Once the design fee has been agreed, we return to site to complete a comprehensive site survey, confirm a detailed design brief and discuss the proposed budget for the project. The site survey includes a full photographic record of the site, recording all dimensions of the site and property, noting existing landscape features, taking accurate site levels and any other site specific information. Then the exciting bit happens - we spend countless hours designing your project and finally produce a sketch or concept design for the entire garden or outdoor space, which we present to the client for discussion. Once the sketch design has been agreed, and any alterations made, the master plan can be drawn up and planting plans produced, presented and agreed. Finally all design and specification documents are printed and supplied to the client and this completes the design process.
