RHS Chelsea Show Garden Design 2009
Show Garden Design For The Fenland Alchemist's Garden
Awarded a Gold Medal and Best Courtyard at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2009. The garden was designed to portray the mythical characters called the Fen Tigers that used to live off the land and depicted a lost way of life on the Cambridgeshire Fens. The garden was built entirely of second hand bric-a-brac, borrowed materials and Fenland items. A rustic shed displayed all manner of objects including eel traps, mole traps and a pair of ice skates. A lean-to was built to one side and featured a hearth and chimney which was used for the alchemists experiments, the plants were entirely chosen for their past use in alchemy and featured the Apothecaries Rose and many native herbs.
