Cambridge Town Garden Design
Houses in the center of Cambridge are often historic sometimes listed buildings and streets around the city center mix traditional brick built houses with modernist styles. Often some houses have large mature gardens, but most commonly town houses have courtyards which require a very different design approach. A designer will often pick up on materials of the surrounding area which will ground the design with a sense of place. Courtyard gardens are often very enclosed spaces that will require screened views, and will need to be well designed to maximize the space available. In such gardens it is the designers role to advise on which mature planting is best kept or should be removed. Architect designed modernist houses allow the designer to use an entirely different material pallet and create a completely different design feel often with a very contemporary style. If you live in a period property and would like your garden designed, giving consideration to its period features and with sensitivity to the properties architecture, location and context, please contact us to discuss your project further.
